THE Under-Secretary of State for India presents his compliments to the Under- Secretary of State for Foreign Affairs, and, by direction of Viscount Morley, forwards herewith, for the information of the Secretary of State, copy of a telegram to the Viceroy, dated the 30th March, relative to the Hpimaw expedition.

India Office, March 30, 1911. PLEASE refer to your telegram, dated the 29th instant, and my telegram, dated the 21st instant, regarding Hpimaw expedition.

Hertz's party should remain as long as possible at Itawgaw, but decision as to actual date of withdrawal is left to your Excellency. 89th Punjabis may be withdrawn from Nangu when it is considered necessary by lieutenant-governor.
